1. Urticaria (Sheetpitta

In Ayurveda Sheetpitta (Urticaria) or Udard are described under the term as allergy. Allergy is is a reaction of the body caused by using or touching in contact of such agents which are not liked by individuals body.

Urticaria (Sheetpitta) starts all over skin of the body like arms neck and trunks with red, itchy, raised areas of that appear in varying shapes and sizes. Urticaria can be round or rings or large patches. In modern science Urticaria produced by histamine. Histamine plays a major role in many allergic reactions. Role of Histamine are dilates blood vessels , makes the vessel walls abnormally permeable and  fluid to leak from the local blood vessels, leading to swelling in the skin.

When a person comes in contact with cold things and other allergens air often, it causes aggravation of Kapha and Vata dosha. It assimilates with aggravation of Pitta Dosha and mixed into the Rakta Dhatu .This leads to Sthan Sanshrya in the skin, eventually causing Sheetpitta or Urticaria.

The line of Ayurvedic treatment is removal of the toxin/allergen/hitamine from the body with herbal preparations. In sheetpitta Panchakarma therapies because of all three dosh aggravation, so such as Abhyanga (massage), Svedana (fomentation), Vaman (induced vomiting) and Virechen (induced lose motion) are effective for Urticaria.

Symptoms:

1. Bumps present - red or skin-colored wheals with clear edges (Red rashes)

Causes:

Sheetapitta causes are stomach disorder like constipation, intestinal worms, low appetite, irregular lifestyle, and bad eating.

Allergens  like dust particle , flower pollen grains, stamens  etc like thousand of allergen which responsible for  allergy to particular person,  taking cold bath immediately after exercise or when the body is hot and mental excitement are the most important factors for the causation of this disease, suppressing the urge of vomiting, improper use of Panchakarma process , insect bite, contact with herbs such as Bhilawa (Semicarpus Anacardium) , including certain painkillers, antibiotics can cause Urticaria.

 

Ayurvedic Medicine for Fever, Diet & Lifestyle:
  • Avoid all type of milk sweets, JAGGERY, alcohol ,incompatible foods, sour and spicy foods or food that are difficult to digest
  • Avoid taking cold bath immediately after exercise or when the body is hot and avoid suppressing the urge to vomit.
  • Avoid exposure to cold wind and hot wind and vice versa and avoid all type causes which responsible for allergy. 

Home Remedy:

Take 3g (1/2 teaspoon) of turmeric powder and one kalimirch with a glass of milk or water two to three times a day. It is an excellent treatment to increase the body’s immunity.
